CodysGameRoom | 2,014
I'll get it, even though I already have all these. If they could just release a version that comes with the original box for Radical Rescue...

Obviously it doesn't affect the rarity since the supply would be unchanged. But it certainly could affect the demand by lowering the number of people who want to buy the original simply to play it. 1

Reed Rothchild | 9,932 Editorials Team ·
Not that some achievements aren't great or creative. Carrying a garden gnome through Half Life 2 for example And replays and extra content is great if they're engaging and fun, and not just a series of boxes you're checking purely to pop a trophy

the_wizard_666 | 1,333
One minor detail I dig is that they're putting all three versions of Tournament Fighters. Most compilations like this would've just put the SNES version on and called it a day, but this allows anyone with nostalgia for any version to have their nostalgia trip. And given how rare Radical Rescue is, that's an awesome inclusion as well. I'm definitely looking forward to this one! 8 hours ago, Reed Rothchild said: If you say so I think what he's getting at is that the achievements assign a seemingly arbitrary point value to them, whereas the trophies are literally just a one-count in each tier level. They're fundamentally similar, but there are differences between the two systems too.
Reed Rothchild | 9,932 Editorials Team ·
They're pretty one-to-one. A bigger score achievement is the equivalent to a gold, medium is a silver, etc. And the actual lists are always the same. The only real difference is the platinums signifying full completion whereas you can't tell at a glance how many 1000/1000s someone has. Splitting hairs, really. And the idea is the same. Chasing (mostly) tedious timesink goals

Chasing (mostly) tedious timesink goals I don't disagree there. Although as someone who enjoys chasing achievements, I will say it sometimes breaths life into a game I'd otherwise be done with. Sometimes I even go back to a game I thought sucked a few years later, and I find that it's actually not as bad as I thought, or that I'm more into the game now than I was at the time...but I never would've popped it in if I didn't see the big glaring hole on the game list. Sure, some games are tedious time sinks, but as long as you're not one of the loonies that shoots for 100% completion in every game you play (a futile goal anyway with server closures, buggy achievements, etc), it can be a fun thing to pursue. Just don't take it too seriously and it can be a lot of fun!

Not only do you get distinctive G/S/B trophies (and what percentage of gamers actually earned it) depending on difficulty (for the most part) but distinctive platinum ones for games where you Catch 'Em All. AND those too are worth points towards "leveling up" your Trophy Level. All Xbox does is give you points towards a Gamerscore and that's it. Sure Xbox came up with the achievement idea first but the way Sony does it is WAY better and more interesting.

Heck about half the PS3 games I have you can't do 100% completion as some of the trophies are online only and the only feature has long since been retired. So I say to heck with platinums, just get as many B/S/G's as you can and then IF a plat is within striking distance, THEN by all means go for it.

It may not matter to YOU, but it does to some. And honestly, for me it's a big reason to replay these games, as most of them I've already finished with long ago otherwise. Different strokes for different folks. 1

Use gravity gun to take gnome to new area, beat the area, go get gnome, move on to the next spot. haha Yes, this collection looks cool. I will get it even though I have all the games. Usually in the games I play as Donnie. probably stems from the ole NES game since he had the longest weapon. haha 1
