DetectiveOnTheHunt | 7 Posted October 13 Share Posted October 13 (edited) Hello there, I'm a rather young fellow from the old west. I won't specify my age, but I am younger than the DS. When I was little, we had many old laptops with XP running on them. While I hated using it at the time, I one day realized that it was merely the antiquated hardware that was the problem, and that Windows XP was in fact a very enjoyable OS, as proven in a virtual machine. Right next to me is a ThinkPad running windows 7. My childhood console was the Wii, and I am proud to still have access to one with a growing homebrew scene. I first discovered a love for vintage consoles when I started playing the castlevania series. Thanks to the often criticized relative easiness of Super Castlevania 4, I was able to learn the ropes of that style of gameplay and conquer the other games, I will admit that I would sometimes use savestates, But now I can beat the famicom version of Castlevania 3 in a couple of days with no savestates. The castlevania series was a gateway to my love of vintage games, and now I have many tough games under my belt. I discovered forum culture through the bay12games forum, and came to appreciate how chill it is in relation to the rest of the web. There's a tiny change that some of you might recognize me from AtariAge. While I knew about this site, I never created an account. Then, at the time of this writing, AtariAge went down. In light of the recent attacks on the Internet Archive, I panicked, creating an account on this forum just in case... I like making music, programming, playing games, and a free market.
