Reed Rothchild | 9,971 Editorials Team ·
Master thread with standings Ratings key: 10 - One of your very favorite artists of all time.9 - Killer fucking band. Or artist.8 - Great sound, great songs, great albums.7 - Very good, but not quite great.6 - Pretty good. More than a few songs you like. You'd entertain the thought of seeing them live if they were in the area. Or still alive.5 - They're okay, but maybe not something you'll go out of your way to listen to.4 - Meh. There may be a song or two, or an album that you dig, but you'd rather listen to other stuff.3 - Not very good. You will more likely than not turn the station if they come on the radio.2 - Not your cup of tea at all. Some people like this, but you are not one of them.1 - Horrible in every way.0 - In the running for worst artist/musician of all time. You would rather take a cheese grater to your face than listen to this.

Because I just did Foo Fighters two weeks ago, and we haven't done a female artist in a bit, and I needed something off the normal beaten rock path

Yeah, a few people voted for them, I know it wasn't a poll or counting votes or anything so that's fair, anyways I guess we'll do SP some other time. RH | 5,246
I'd put them at 7.5. Blondie is a band that slowly like more and more as I age. I'm not sure why. I didn't like them as a kid, and now I think they have a great 70s/80s sound. Good stuff.
Sumez | 3,170
7. Nothing super special about it, but it's really impossible to dislike Blondie, a fact the poll only supports.
MrMark0673 | 197
I saw Blondie open for Elvis Costello this summer. Debbie Harry has seen better days, but at 74 I think she gets a pass. Not sure what I'm going grade yet, but I'll edit with my score.

But looking back at pictures of her, it is pretty obvious that she is at least 30. Nothing wrong with that, at all.

acromite53 | 338
10/10 Love this band! I love the punk/new wave stuff in this time. The late 70s were great. 1978 was a good year in music. A few favorites to check out from their albums: Blondie: X Offender, In the Sun, Rifle Range Parallel Lines: (whole thing!) Hanging on the Telephone, Pretty Baby Eat to the Beat: Union City Blues, Slow Motion AutoAmerican: Angels on the Balcony Aw yeah got that OG Private Stock mix It was their first single. Check it out as a bonus track on Spotify. They actually lost the master tape for that recording so the audio was sourced from one of the 45s. Hanging on the Telephone, Pretty Baby I'm surprised I didn't wear out our album of Parallel Lines growing up. Fun fact- I used to have a platinum album of Autoamerican (Sal somebody's?) I wanted to get a platinum Parallel Lines but gave up on finding it after a year or so. Sold mine, then a few weeks later Parallel Lines showed up on ebay, with the same Sal recipient!
