Gloves | 12,259 Administrator ·
Definitely looking forward to this. It looks so far to have captured the feel of the original pretty accurately with the gameplay, so that's dope.
zeppelin03 | 314
It looks great. I've heard people say this would have been perfect on Wii U, but I am glad it's one Switch. Give me traditional controls so I can look at the great environments on my TV.

I thought it was on Wii U (Virtual Console), no?

I could picture them going overboard with motion controls and the second screen like Starfox.
DefaultGen | 5,724
It is actually outrageous there wasn't a Pokemon Snap game on Wii U. I enjoy the first one a lot (the wife does too!), no brainer day 1 purchase for me. I'm expecting it to be essentially identical to the original game, especially with a name like "New Pokemon Snap", but would love if it's way more fleshed out somehow than just a dozen or so train tracks through theme park rides. Strange | 1,727
Day one purchase here too. I remember renting the original game from the video store as a kid. Fans have been asking for this, seems like a no brainer. Good on Game Freak and The Pokemon Company. Edited June 17, 2020 by The Strangest
Skorp | 387
Yeah, it is great they are listening. There was a petition and so much support for this to be a reality too. I remember the first year and I just thought how perfect the Switch would be for Snap. Hopefully it comes out this year.
zeppelin03 | 314
@Skorp You are right that they are listening. So far the Switch has felt like a return to form for many series. I really hope they keep it up and give us some new Pilotwings among others. Bringing back Snap is giving me hope for the less popular games. I'll stop dreaming and just wait to see what The Pokemon Company has for us next week.

BortLicensePlate | 652
Super excited for this. The original was the first game I owned when I was a kid. Looks like it isnt going to stray too far from what the original did
DoctorEncore | 3,691
I enjoyed the original, although I think it was a product of its time and I doubt I will pick this up. Also, I can't believe they are sticking with this "New" labeling convention. Ugh.

Adorabear | 69
I'm interested to see how this will be! I never got to play Snap since I didn't have an N64, but I've always been really intrigued by it. I'll buy it on Day 1 for sure!
Tanooki | 5,114
I was truly shocked with all the pokemon stuff cropping up lately they'd revisit a 20 year old N64 game that just went nowhere since. It was like on the level of Nintendo digging up the grave of Kid Icarus last seen in the early 90s to show up then on 3DS. I'm kind of pretty interested in this one. I've only dabbled with the original on an emulator once they worked correctly enough over time and it was fine, but never took it the length as I rarely do with freebies. Want to know more, but also perhaps want this as I think having camera time and research would combine to make a more entertaining thing to stick with.
