You have never bested me in a championship tournament (yeah we all know "I was so far ahead there was no need for a tournament"). It will be easy, but not for you. NESfiend | 1,559
Great game choice! I never would have thought to play this in a million years. Im not sure I'd even heard of it. Its definitely a fun game to get hooked on for a bit. @bertsampson pretty well proving he could play this game until someone unplugs it is insane! Also, Hawaiian themed party for the little guy was a cool idea. I have the 2 year bday party in about a month. I think its going be all star wars stuff

Congrats on the muchkin turning two! Yeah, sorry to disappoint. If we had played this a month or so ago, I would have had time to give it proper "Mario Bros." game play time. He's mostly just interested in whatever his three year old brother is doing. Brother will be having a Dinosaur party in November. I've tried getting them in to Star Wars, but dinosaurs are more interesting right now. Oh, and Mappy is really repetitive. Not Mario Bros. repetitive, but more like Pac-Man. All fun games that could be played forever.
guillavoie | 1,227 Events Team ·
For the second time this year, we had a Famicom exclusive week, or as some purist US collectors prefer referring to it, emulation week. This time around, it was about that goode olde Mappy game. Famicom exclusive or not, this game is in the very classic arcade vein, so it was expected that @bertsampson, VGS geral scoreboard leader and arcade specialist, would be hard to beat. The door was open for an upset though, as the Human Cyborg had to celebrate his son 2nd anniversary, but even with his father extra burdens and an escapist plan to do errands at the Costco store, Bert still managed to break the million mark and take the win, which he wholeheartedly dedicated to his youngest son in a very poignant speech during the trophy ceremony. The battle for the silver and bronze medals were much more tense this week, as newcomer @ZeldaFreak was determined to make a good first impression to the contest crowd, in conjunction with checking off the 'Particip ant' Bingo case, though with much less interest in the latter than the former we must admit. The contest rookie took hold of the first place spot for a good portion of the week with his score of 266,400, but only to see his good pal @Jeevan get the best out of him with a score of 377,970, and then the merry duo both got bested by @VegaVegas's solid performance of 425,920. But let's not feel too bad for Zeldafreak and Jeevan, as they both got a blackout at the VGS Bingo event for consolation. To finish this off, let me take the time to 'tip my hat' to the 100k score club for their honorable effort this week, @0xDEAFC0DE (156,950), @NESfiend (131,260), @Gaia Gensouki (101,760) and @mbd39 (101,520). Thanks to everyone for playing and posting in the contest thread, and let's all put a big smile on our faces in preparation for next week's game, KaRaTe ChAmP!!!!
