Tanooki | 5,125
All the car nut/body articles/posts I was reading from competent types said to only go with DAWN soap. I guess if it's good enough for oil covered baby seals, it's good enough not to eat your paint job and sealing coat from the factory.
TDIRunner | 2,912
I would be curious to know how you determine who is and isn't competent on automobile forums. There is a lot of good information out there, but there is also A LOT of bad info. Not telling you to do anything different. If it works, it works. Tanooki | 5,125
Well it wasn't just forums, didn't want to take it on blind faith on a new car. It was a mix of forums, mechanic websites giving free tips and ideas to save on a re-paint, etc. I narrowed down a few things and removed them over risk, then looked into the others. The dawn soap and hot water was the most gentle and smart place to start.
austin532 | 469
So a quick update on this. It's almost been about two months since I deep cleaned it and it still feels pretty nice. I little bit grimy but not as bad as before. I wiped it down and it feels good again.
