Seeing this list reminds me of the thread back on NA.  That thread made up like 90% of the activity on NA for what felt like a pretty long time.

I knew Tim had a history with NA and I didn't think it went well, but I had no clue this was this guys collection.  So.... how in the world did he end up with so many cases of sealed NES games?  That has to be the greatest score anyone will ever have, ever. Period.

The numbers after the titles are number of cases followed by number of sealed copies btw.

Thats a big hoard of games, but relatively small to a collecting base that could potentially grow to over 100k collectors in years to come. In comparison, there is an estimated 1 million+ comic book collectors. All it takes to grow that collecting base is a clever marketing campaign. Just wait until WATA partners up with Steven Spielberg and every future movie has a character with a video game collection!

Wasn’t it something something closed down retailers or something?  I could swear I knew this once.  What a major saga that mess was.  I believe the reason he entered the scene in the first place by showing a grainy case of Stadium Events was some FU to people cornering the market on some sealed games or something along those lines?  I might be misremembering.

Edit: Remember how much shit used to be talked about people from NA only being concerned with value and inflating prices?

That does not prove anything other than there's a small demand for physical copies for one particular console. Overall, as proven above, 83% of ALL video game sales are digital. And that was 2 years ago- before the announcement of PS5 having a digital console option.

500 more published games on the PS4 than PS3. Why ever would there be a substantial increase of 25% more games being made available in physical form if you didn't buy a single one 🤔🤔🤔

How could we ever draw a conclusion here...

Wait a second, the market reacts to the consumer??? So the demand for my physical games causes an increase in physical releases???

It was something like he was hired to clear out a bunch of old warehouses.  Check out the article here:

And yes it all started, or I think got re-invigorated, by him posting the pic of the case of Stadium Events.  Actually.... I don't even think it was him.  It was a friend of his or something.  But then I think Tim actually started chiming in.  But I thought he was banned from NA.  And there was some debate whether it was really him or not.  It was a great thread.  Good stuff.

Minusworlds posted the pic of the case.

Tim got banned because he started trolling people and picking fights.

Also, Tim's ban was temporary and he did come back afterwards and posted a few times, but not much before we never heard from him again.

Based on most of his posts, I always got the feeling that he didn't have a lot of forum experience and he had absolutely no intentions of sticking around for long.  He came in to say his word, and he stuck around a little bit longer to troll the people that he didn't care for.

Ah it’s been awhile since I read that article. Tim talk always pops up in these forums. Never talked to him myself, I was on NA later just before the GoCollect hammer fell. It would be interesting to see where and what he is up to these days

Why in the world he hasn't cashed out and retired early is beyond me.  I mean he got all those games literally for free.  It's like he hit the lottery.

Well, if the article is telling the truth, Tim states he doesn't need the money and he's going to let his kids inherit the whole ordeal if getting rid of the Stadium Events case and, I assume, whatever cases of other games he might still have.

I'm guessing in another 10-15 years, we're going to see some new article, maybe hitting major news sites, of "secret cache of extremely rare and valuable video games discovered!".

He’s already unloaded some games on Hertiage. There is the “Atwood” collection. Go search Hertiage sold and some will pull up.

Yeah, he was posting links to a 1995 era website where he hosted his pics and "blog" postings. He could also be a righteous prick at times.

Hahaha.  He wasn't so bad.  It was entertaining for the most part.  And he was handing out sealed autographed Atwoods for a minute.  Got me a MagMax.

What I always find funny about these “first print key titles” is that they aren’t even first prints, the Japanese versions are true first print. WATA & HA unfortunately can’t market that so they just go with the US stuff.

Oh wait....  you mean something like this?  It pre dates the US Zelda by a year and a half.  And it can be yours for the low price of....

If people were really interested in first print, that Zelda would probably be going off the charts. But the WATA & HA marketing department are convincing “investors” that only US “first print” matters.

It's the same as trading card grading companies and Pokemon cards. There are a ton of Pokemon cards that pre-date the US 1st edition cards that pull the most money. People don't really care about first prints in most circles they just want what everyone tells them to want.

Hence WATA swooping in and saying, basically, this is what you want and BAM! prices exploded.

Haha yep exactly right. The speculators/investors get conned into what the grading companies tell them to want and then the uninformed also jump in and start making YouTube videos so their investment is protected.

I own a PS4 and haven't bought a single physical copy game for it. Every game I have lives in a cloud in my PS account. Its already begun. Denial is not a river in Egypt. Sell your physical media story to Netflix or the music industry.

You do realise that in some countries cassette fucking tapes and bloody vcd are making a comeback...

Did you not see my source link and screen shot negating your claim? I will hit you up in 10 years when that factory sealed N64 Perfect Dark is worth $10 Billion dollars!

Doesn't count, your link was to a USA statistic. Don't be arrogant enough to assume that it's the only country in the world that does games.
