LeatherRebel5150 | 1,093
Stopped at the mall yesterday and checked out the book store, which also happens to have some board games and other misc stuff and saw that Tiger is rereleasing their old handhelds. Thought someone here would be interested to know. I saw an Xmen, Little Mermaid, and the third one i forgot 3
mideast | 144
Wow did you notice any differences from the original hardware? Look pretty legitimate.
Hammerfestus | 4,100
Shoot. If they’re cheap enough I’d pick up a couple.
LutherDestroysTheGond | 717
They're at gamestop locations iirc. In the checkout lines with impulse buys. Noticed them a few weeks ago but they're not for me Edited February 16, 2021 by LutherDestroysTheGond
Estil | 1,291
I had a few LCD games from the 90s...my grandma still has a few...a Yahtzee game, Solitaire game, Who Wants to be a Millionaire I got her one Christmas back in the day, among other things. I also had a few casino handheld LCD games back in the day, like Radio Shack blackjack for example.
Tanooki | 5,113
I saw one at a gamestop once, it was the Transformer G2 one. From what I've been told, other than I guess the back plate which should have a new copyright info year in the rear and modern branding they should be identical to the originals. They're just cheap re-releases of licensed goods. As far as I recall there are four, the other is a Sonic game. I think they're $20 a piece which isn't far off the mark for their price back in the 80s too. I think if I ever saw the Transformers one, I'd grab it. You play as prime and just blow up decepticons which is fine by me. Tiger stuff has been and on and off interest of mine for years and as such I do have a few of the original handhelds still, and I also have one of those virtual boy wannabes the XPG (thankfully the handheld, not the ridiculous eye patch version.)

Tanooki | 5,113
Suck all the same, they're unchanged. You either love them or hate them, not much of a middle ground on a segmented LCD game. 1
DarkTone | 1,010
Didn't get a gameboy for years. It was these or nothing and I enjoyed these.

croagunk | 798
I bought the Sonic 3 one at EB Games a few months ago. It’s a real throwback, but I’d rather play on the Genesis.
