Tabonga | 2,533
I am going with the angle of the guy's head. It is cantilevered to the left of the picture too far to be natural if they are moving towards the viewer.

Hammerfestus | 4,110
Coming. Look at the horse‘s legs. If they’re going that horse is seriously deformed. Edit: The person’s feet too. Edited June 21, 2021 by Hammerfestus
Bearcat-Doug | 5,125
It looks like the horse is coming and the girl is going or at least has her back turned.
B.A. | 1,142
the horse is facing forward, the girl is facing the other direction.
TDIRunner | 2,927
The person looks to be going and the horse's upper half looks to be coming. However, I can't see how the horses legs could possible work for anything other than going.

Renmauzo | 1,227
The slight ribbing on the left pant leg makes me thing that that's crinkling from repeated knee bending. At the same time, the slight curve of the lower right leg from the knee down suggests to me this is 'going'.
JamesRobot | 6,049 Events Team ·
They are in fact coming toward the camera. The rear leg of the horse(furthest to the left) is on a plane further from the camera. The red lines show how the knees, ankles, and hooves of the rear legs align and the blue lines regard the front legs. If the horse was walking away, then its rear end is levitating. 3 1
fcgamer | 5,020
The horse is so busy he doesn't know whether he's coming or going.
OptOut | 9,041
Careful sleuthing and the utilisation of sophisticated image editing techniques allowed me to enhance the image brightness and reveal the truth: It turns out the woman was actually two children in a trench coat, and the horse was Hitler's horse. Case closed. 1
RH | 5,246
Well, if you know anything about equestrian... stuff. Owners/handlers walk on the left side of the horse. That alone makes it very-likely they are coming.

Also if they were going, that would be one super loooooong lead because the girl would be at the ass end of the horse. Handlers always use a short lead and walk at the front of the horse.
Gloves | 12,290 Administrator ·
I think we're all just glossing over the most important question here... Where did they come from, Cotton-eye Joe? 1
spacepup | 2,489 Administrator ·
It looks to me like it's one of those manipulated photos to be confusing just for this purpose hah. Anyway, without digging in or complicating it, what my brain initially sees, is the horse coming, and the girl "going" / facing the horse.
