  1. Yeah, it makes Soccer seem like the best game ever
  2. Next round is a Batman speedrun, with Macross (Famicom) as bonus points. So it's two games in one.
  3. I thought that may have been why you dropped. If it happened to be a game that was in your wheelhouse, I'm sure you would've come up with the time to play a round or two, but with other obligations, time for practice would definitely be at a premium. Just sucks that you did so bloody well to get there and aren't playing though.
  4. It would've been if I hadn't moved to another province in October We've had a ton of head to head Golf rounds in the past, it's just insane that our personal bests are now a push as well. T'was an epic round for sure!

Not gonna do the table formatting cuz fuck it As it sits, with @Bearcat-Doug ducking out, it seems that myself and @NESfiend tied for the final spot, however he wins the tiebreaker due to his regular season ranking. Another side note - the side bet that myself and @Dr. Morbis had with regard to our Golf scores is another draw! I honestly did NOT see that one coming, not by a long shot! Anyway, if anyone is sitting on a killer score, you have ~40 minutes to get it in! Otherwise, it's @0xDEAFC0DE, @bertsampson, @Dr. Morbis and @NESfiend in the superhero showdown!
  6. I understand that. I could tell that Tennis was pretty well made, but yeah, I suck nuts at it Soccer though, I actually didn't think it was horrible, and for it's day it wasn't a terrible representation of the sport...though I'm no soccer fan so what do I know
  7. Not gonna lie @PII, I was expecting better Still, anything under par on Golf in my eyes is a killer score.
  8. The last time I played Batman was when I beat it. According to my list, that was November 24, 2012. I doubt I'd land the win, especially going for speed, but stranger things have happened. It never hurts to give it a go, right?
  9. Thanks! If I make it, and somehow manage to pull of the miracle and win, I'll have you to thank. And regardless of outcomes, I can't wait to compete again next year! Hopefully the ailment is nothing major and life can go back to normal for you!
  10. I'd argue that point, but if @Bearcat-Doug is out, and everyone else is cool with it, I'll go for it. I doubt I'd win it all anyway...shooters (especially mystery ones) aren't my forte, and Batman's gonna take a hell of a lot of work to perfect for me, but I'm game to compete if there are no complaints.
  11. While technically yes, it doesn't matter as I won't make enough points to beat @bertsampson. Since round 2 is technically a continuation of round 1 for the two of us, only one of us can advance, regardless of how many people I score ahead of. And since my goal in Soccer was an absolute fluke, I doubt I could even replicate that win, nevermind improve on it. And since I can't seem to score against the computer on Tennis unless they do it to themselves, that's a writeoff. And at -15 already, I doubt I could shave three more strokes off my game in what little time remains. @Bearcat-Doug All the best to you bud...take care of the fam-jam!
  12. While I don't know about speed-running World Games, I could definitely see it being a possibility for Spartan X 2. In the interest of future contests, have you ever tried doing a progress + lowest score run? That could make something like Contra doable despite the maxing of scores and relative ease of gameplay. It'd completely change the game if you were trying to get as few points as possible...
  13. Thing is, it's possible to get that 0 wind without knowing about holding start. It's impossible (short of using a keylogger) to tell if it's legit or not. And zero wind on the first hole is hardly advantageous in the grand scheme...I mean, if I don't birdie on hole one, I typically just reset and start over. So really, it's a non-issue to me.
  14. Predicting wind is likely impossible. Even holding out for favourable conditions on hole 1 makes no difference. I tested this by save stating after finishing hole 1, but before the new hole loaded. After reloading the state, the wind changed every time. Once the stage loads, it's set, even if saved before the wind is displayed, meaning it is set at some point between the transition. @0xDEAFC0DE can correct me if I'm wrong here, but it would appear that there is no way to predict the RNG for the next hole's wind...it's just random.
  15. Yeah, my bad, I assumed you ran a script to play for you. I'd actually be curious to try the script out and see if it'd improve my game any, but again, I'm thinking execution is the hardest part, so it may not actually help me any Anyway, I think banning code-peeking is a bit excessive...my argument is that anyone can do it, so long as the inclination is there to learn what exactly they're looking at. Your advantage is already knowing that part, but anyone who cares to learn can do it. And unless I missed something, you haven't posted for Soccer or Tennis yet...if you figure something out that would help though, feel free to chime in!
  16. The thing is, if we ban looking at code, what's stopping him from doing it anyway? I'd rather he didn't, obviously, but there's no way to stop it from happening. It'd be nice if all the info gleaned was made public immediately, but we can't really ban the tactic without banning things like reading the manual or looking at a strategy guide.
  17. I think that would constitute "other obvious silliness"
  18. In fairness, he absolutely DID say words about it...just not publicly. We talked about it a LOT, pretty much since the games were announced. EDIT: And thinking about it, he's been pretty consistent about that complaint during every sports game so far, at least that I've played.
  19. His computer isn't even on the same floor of the house as his NES. But he's working on a solution.
  20. Don't worry, his -24 doesn't count. He wrote a script, which means the game wasn't actually played.
  21. Using a script is not playing the game though. You have to execute for the score to count. But it's cool that you figured out a theoretical maximum...
  22. This kinda fucks @Dr. Morbis. Dude doesn't have a cell phone... EDIT: Repurposing this post for my scores. BATMAN: 3-2, 8:23.76 + 30 minutes = 38:23.76 MACROSS: 737,200 = 7 Points Goddamnit, I keep hitting wrong buttons Thankfully the timer is displayed in the video so I could get the right time, since I completely fucked up my splits at the end by hitting "clear" out of habit instead of "pause" like I had intended, and then hitting "No" instead of "Cancel," thus clearing my times...D'OH! But yeah, best run to this point by far...3-2 is probably my limit for the time being though, as I have a shift tomorrow and tentative post-work plans. Since Batman is probably at my personal peak, I may have to see if I can squeeze a bit more out of Macross...it's doubtful though, but who knows. Addendum: Well, I somehow managed to pull it off...I just KILLED my prior score, and cracked the 700K mark! Boom shaka laka!
  23. I clearly didn't read that part So I will need a stupidly high level Golf score to have a hope in hell at this point, since the best I can hope for in Soccer is to keep it scoreless, and I have zero hope of pulling off a win of any sort in Tennis to neutralize the -2. Ah well, was fun while it lasted...though I'm still gonna keep trying on Golf to see how good I can get...
  24. While that's true, I also didn't want to play it again. He could've posted his score with enough time for me to go back and improve and I still wouldn't have been arsed to try. I was done with the game the second I posted. Anyway, I have no idea how Soccer works...I couldn't even score on difficulty 1, and gaining possession is a minor miracle even then...so in conclusion, I'm done...unless I can pull off a miracle run on Golf, I have zero hope of success here. Guess I'm just gonna focus on school work instead.
  25. I learned that I came close to advancing despite having no business being in the tournament. And I really didn't want to play Keroppi again, so you were probably gonna be dealing with @bertsampson this round, with or without me.
