  1. Just giving you a hard time. I agree that it's more a port than anything. The article states that it's a rom hack but details are vague. Even if it was built on top of Pac-Man (or maybe Pac-World?), it's a complete overhaul. Do you have a PowerPak or Everdrive? You should be able to get the expansion audio on either one and you wouldn't have to go out of your way to wire up a repro. Though that would be pretty cool.
  2. I thought you didn't go in for hacks. This is pretty badass. Gonna throw it on the PowerPak this weekend. Found a pretty cool article on the whole affair. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/07/we-traced-namcos-new-pac-man-demake-to-its-source-a-2008-fan-romhack/
  3. @Dr. Morbis Gonna be rereleased soon on the Action 53 v4 cart. There's gonna be a bunch of good stuff on that comp.
  4. Definitely not a hack. It's a ground up homebrew for the most part. While assets (as well as level design) were taken from the NES-like flash game of the same name with the author's permission, thefox wrote all the code. It's really a port (demake?) of the remake of the Action 52 Streemers. Check out the dev page if you're interested. http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?t=8697
  5. Yeah... I had been planning to head to Sturgis this year. The schedule lined up perfect for me. I did not go. Bikers don't give a shit. Wasn't about to put myself in that petri dish.
  6. I give em a 6 + 1 for their live performance. Them old dudes rock harder than anybody out there. Saw em at a metal fest some 10 years ago with a lineup of classic a nü metal and they put everyone to shame.
  7. Oh yeah! There's a Mega Man movie. It's fantastic.
  8. There's a couple Tekken live action movies. The first one is pretty okay. Haven't seen Kazuya's Revenge. Couple animated movies too but I haven't seen them either.
  9. Played a ton of Star Fox on the kiosk. I didn't have a SNES as a kid so I would play it any chance I got.
  10. Leisure Suit Larry 1 and 3 had age verification quizzes to prove you were old enough to play the game. For 3, the more answers you got right, the more skimpy the girl's bathing suit would get to indicate the level of gameplay you would experience. More right answers equaled more raunch and nudity throughout the game.
  11. I enjoyed the series but it is a little topical and leaves something to be desired. It kind of meanders about with competitive play being a loose central focus. I get the need to show the history of how video games evolved, but do early pc text adventures and RPGs really have a place in a High Score documentary? Still, the compare/contrast between the players and the devs was pretty good. The player perspective is really essential, especially the tournament events. I wish there was a little more of that.
  12. Well done @Gloves. I had a blast and was happy to try some stuff a little out of my element. Length was good for the challenge. I feel 2 weeks may have made it too easy. I liked the secret charms and suspected those were the categories. There seemed to be a distinct theme. I voted that charms were perfect but also not varied enough; only because I would like to see the special charms change out a little bit next time. All in all this is the kind of thing I really appreciate about VGS. Thanks.
  13. This is a great collection of b sides, remixes, and extended takes if you want to dive deep into tha Row.
  14. As a 1/100th owner/investor, you have my permission.
  15. The forbidden fruit is Canadian! I wish they sold em here though, one of my favorite flavor of chips. This is an old pic but I was thinking about how good they are haha. Have you had the all dressed? So damn good. I've seen them here at the Safeway.
