  1. Really want to see Oppenheimer just haven't had time. In general, I think Nolan is pretty overrated. Prestige is his best, memento is pretty good. Inception is decent but pretentious. Interstellar was a pretty big disappointment if I'm being honest despite the crazy special effects. And the Batmen. He's doesn't even make the top 3. And Christian Bale may well be the worst cinematic Batman hands down with his stupid fucking voice. Michael Caine is a badass Alfred though. I tried to watch the Nolan trilogy again this past year and didn't make it. Begins is alright. Then I made it about halfway through Dark Knight and decided Rises wasn't worth it. Matter of fact, I found Batman & Robin more enjoyable and that movie is terrible save for the Mr. Freeze one-liners.
  2. This debate inspired me to watch it again after a few years. Doesn't quite make it into the favorites but it's damn good. The fight scenes a great too. Nice and visceral. Particularly the one where Jared Leto gets his ass whooped. I've heard all the theories and intended symbolism but Fight Club is way more fun on a more surface level. Don't really care about the cancer or male emasculation themes. Just let the movie be about a schizo and enjoy the hamfisted twist. We are the all singing all dancing crap of the world.
  3. Nah, he ain't collecting dirty no mo'. He's too good for your crusty ass.
  4. Looks pretty rad. I was thinking it reminded me of the Tempest sequels (2000, 3000). Apparently the dude who produce 2000 for the Jaguar produced the PS4 Polybius. Not a grail but I might give it shot. No VR for me though.
  5. There is totally a link to the previous entry immediately preceding you're first post.
  6. I haven't dived too deep into the BÖC. I've got a greatest hits which is pretty great too be sure. I'm sitting at a 7 but feel like if I gave them a proper listen they could tip into an 8. Maybe even a 9. I saw them in the late 90s and they wailed pretty hard. Fuck it. I'll give em the 8 based on the performance.
  7. I've touched this game a dozen times or more and just can't get into it. Probably the difficulty. 4
  8. I'd watch it again if it came up but haven't seen it since it was in theaters. I remember Dick being pretty big for a couple of months... It was supposedly the next big comic movie after Batman hit in 89. It was not. I'd argue that the next big comic movie was Blade. Didn't really care for any of the other 90s Batmen.
  9. Also really dig this in-between track on Hello Nasty.
  10. Yeah I used to go fairly all in on my favorite bands. Love me some live albums, B sides, and 12” extended mixes (particularly for funk and rap). Some artists definitely have better alternate catalogs than others. But I'm not a hardcore collector these days. And I'm CD only. Vinyl is too big to really hoard properly. And way too expensive these days.
  11. Beastie Boys just slip into the 10. I love their old school roots and what they developed into through the 90s. The hits are great of course, particularly in the Check Your Head/Ill Communications era. But I really dig the funky jams that show up starting on Paul's Boutique. My favorite album is their instrumental compilation, In Sounds From Way Out. (Which is actually missing their best funky tune Futterman's Rule yet is included on the French import release, but I digress.).
  12. The best motorcycle racing series. The first outing was great in the day and then II came out and made it infinitely more playable with splitscreen 2 player. Probably a 7 for the OG and a 9 for RR II. Also played a ton of RR 3D. Another 9.
