  1. Y'all seen this show yet? Gotta say, it's pretty rad with its highly stylized frenetic animation. Reminds me of Redline, maybe Dead Leaves, and of course has a big Ghost in the Shell influence. Real horrorshow and ultraviolent.
  2. I feel more so that way about Mortal Kombat. There are some cryptic button combinations to achieve fatalities. SF moves are more intuitive if you know they are there. It kind of standardized special moves for all other games to come. The forward roll, backwards roll, double tap forward, hold down then up, hold back then forward... Any game with special moves was inspired by SF and uses some form of these to perform the move.
  3. I'm between 6 and 7. I bumped it to a 7 for historical significance. It was revolutionary at the time. Really the catalyst of modern fighting games. And I played it a ton in arcade and Turbo on the Genesis. And I love the Marvel crossovers too. But one thing never quite felt right about it and that is the differentiation between quick, medium, and heavy strikes each being assigned their own button. By the time Virtua Fighter and more so Tekken came around, I was a convert. It made much more sense to have each limb assigned to a button rather than 3 buttons each for punches and kicks. I do still enjoy SF on occasion but never really looked back after Tekken.
  4. Catsup chips rule. I can't really get them here.
  5. 6 feels about right. I bust it out every once in awhile. Suck at it pretty hard though.
  6. Picked up a rye whisky this time from Lyons for my birthday a couple weeks ago. Went and played some pinball too. Another cask strength at 68%. Just cracked it tonight.
  7. My childhood copy was the "Original" Punch Out. It was in the cheap bin at KB. But yeah, it's gotta be Mike Tyson's.
  8. 2121 Love that Garbage album. It was the soundtrack to a bunch of 90s make out sessions. And I have a long standing crush on Shirley Manson. Faith No More cover is great. Prefer the Commodores but this is surprisingly faithful (ha).
  9. I joined up on the Midjourney Discord the moment this story came across my feed. Most of my general results were kind of mediocre. But I did prompt the bot with Video Game Sage. I really dig the fact that it came up with a sage plant on the first iteration. You can then choose to upscale any of your choices. Here's the final product.
  10. I find AI generated "art" wildly interesting. Art is generally a conscious act of human expression typically visual or musical in most common forms. The machine (not conscious and non-human) generated (created?) the image (artwork?) from prompts input by the user (artist, producer?). At this point it feels like it's just a commodity. But then it was entered into an art competition. Now the user has become an artist and made a very interesting statement with the image's entry. And the fact that it won 1st place, validates the artist, the work, and reinforces the statement. So is the mere conception of the idea now art? Or is it not the human but the AI that is the artist. My gut reaction is that this isn't art. I actually feel the underlying artistic statement is similar to what Dadaism was getting at. It's non-art and absurd. It's virtually meaningless. But its entry into an art show elevates the status from nothing to something, however meaningless it is.
  11. 5 by the book. Played it a bunch back in tha day. Probably could've gone as high as an 8 during the era but I'd rather play OG or 8 these days depending on the mood.
  12. Good call. I forget about it but it has great physics. Probably the best of the bunch particularly in that regard.
  13. I can see that, though I consider most Stern tables to have pretty tight play. Quick but I feel they flow well. Haven't played Tron or Zep. ACDC and Mandalorian are my faves. Black and white Munsters is pretty great too.
  14. Battle Kid and Battle Kid 2. There is some seriously ridiculous shit in BK2. I died 6953 times.
  15. Probably my least favorite but don't let that sway you especially if you're not a pinball guy. Pinball Quest is unique. All you need to know going in is it's a pinball RPG.
