  1. I was happy to not be interested in Amiibos. I like the idea of making DLC into a physical format, but they still take up too much space for my taste, and watching people freak out over trying to find the difficult to find figures looked stressful. I was glad I didn't have to worry about that. If they had made Amiibo into a card format (like e-Reader), I probably would have been all over it trying to get all of them.
  2. I wish I had the room for more of these, because there are several more that I would be interested in, but I can barely justify the room for the two I have.
  3. The biggest issue with using other gaming stuff as a spacer is What I meant was, use a uniform spacer, such as a 1x6 (or whatever depth you need) that sits across the entire shelf. When you put your games in, the bottom of the game will hit the board and display on the edge of the shelf. Since the spacer board is only 3/4" tall, you can store stuff on top of it in the empty space behind the games.
  4. Looks good. If you are only doing one row of games in each shelf, have you thought about using spacers to bring the games to the front of the shelf so they sit at the edge? If you do that, you can use the space behind the games to store gaming related stuff that you don't want to display in view. Edit: I think the short shelves in the middle of the room work pretty well since they aren't very tall. I would have no problem leaving them there until you can actually expand the room into the unfinished area.
  5. I enjoyed Rogue One as well. It's certainly the best Star Wars movie that Disney has handled. Disney hasn't been a complete disaster with Star Wars. There have been several good aspects of the purchase. Rogue One is good. The Mandalorian is good. The Star Wars stuff at the Disney parks is great. Honestly, the only problem I have with any of it is the way they have handled the mainline Star Wars movies. The sequel trilogy movies were written in a way that makes me believe they have little to no understanding of the source material, and that's pretty unfortunate.
  6. I don't disagree with this in general, but it doesn't apply to me. I've been a defender of the prequel trilogy since it came out. I don't argue that the prequel trilogy is amazing, and I certainly don't argue that it's better than the original trilogy, but I have always maintained that it isn't as bad as most people say.
  7. The sequel trilogy makes the prequel trilogy look like the original trilogy.
  8. Nevermind. Already mentioned above. But I still stand by the fact that Scott Pilgrim has almost certainly been their most requested game over the past few years.
  9. 100% of my experience with this console is on the Japanese side. I own a Core Grafx II and a Duo R. I got into this console about 7 or 8 years ago with the plan of buying just buying hardware I needed and passing on the games. I have an Everdrive for the hu card games and I burn my own discs for the disc based games. The system is a lot of fun, but not worth the asking prices of most of the games in my opinion. The system absolutely deserved to get more attention in the states while it was out, but looking back, NEC made a lot of stupid marketing mistakes that prevented it from being competitive with Sega and Nintendo. I highly recommend everyone try out the games on this system, but due to the current market prices, I also recommend doing it with emulation. This is my advice. If you want to get into this system today and you insist on buying original hardware, start with a Duo system. Don't do what I did and start with hu card only and the plan to add CD functionality later. You will save a lot of money, time and headache if you just go with a Duo system from the start. If the price of a Duo turns you off, emulate the games.
  10. That's the best description of that area yet.
  11. That's weird. I swear I mentioned this the other day, but now I don't see my post. I'm guessing that I typed it up, but never hit submit. Anyway, I meant to say that I updated the PS1 portion of your spreadsheet with everything I had. One of the games you already had in place is an EU game, so I updated that as well. I added genre for each game. However, these types of games are often difficult to categorize because many blur the line between traditional platformer and action/adventure game. Feel free to change or update anything I added.
  12. I don't even see where you would order it online if you wanted one.
  13. I just got a poster from Retro USB for 8-Bit Xmas 2020. I ordered and received the game about a week or two ago, but I didn't know a poster came with it (and shipped separately). Did everyone else who ordered the game get a poster?
  14. I hate to say it, but I never really got into the Castlevania series. We never rented any of them during the NES era, and none of my friends had them either. I've played many of the games as an adult, but none to completion. I really enjoyed the games I tried and some day I hope to play through more of them. I probably haven't played the original enough to give it a proper rating, but I still feel confident enough rating it high. Symphony of the Night is the only one I've played extensively, but even then, I haven't finished it.
  15. I don't disagree with that at all. It should be difficult to learn, but if I haven't mastered it by now, it's not going to happen. However, my inability to wall jump consistently doesn't take anything away from the gameplay for me. However, it does make that pit frustrating whenever I'm doing a 100% run. Also, as a young kid I remember thinking that I had soft locked the game when I fell in that pit and use the save station that some demon crazed game developer decided to put there. That whole area is one big troll. But even with that, I still consider Super Metroid to be as close to a perfect game as just about anything I've ever played.
  16. Plus, watching speed runners do it flawlessly over and over again just makes me feel bad.
  17. Damn you. You made me realize there is ONE thing about Super Metroid I would change. I would make the wall jumping easier. I'm not a good wall jumper, so that would be nice. However, I'm not interested in the other moves. I don't need wall grabbing or ball-dash.
  18. If it is, that's news to me. I've only played through the game twice (compared to dozens upon dozens of times for Super Metroid). So it's certainly possible I missed that.
  19. My biggest complaint with Zero Mission is the fact that they put a dot on the map with an arrow pointing to it saying "go here next." It is a great game, but it's just not as good as Super Metroid. Super Metroid is one of those games that I DON'T want a remake for. The reason being, what would I want them to do different in a remake? The answerer for me is nothing, therefore a remake for me is pointless.
  20. Did no one here order Paprium? I figured that would have been mentioned by now.
  21. One die or two dice. But I completely accept anyone who uses dice singularly because I think it sounds better (I sometimes use it that way). I would never correct someone who uses it that way, and I would be fine if that ever becomes the officially accepted term. Edit: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, but also took a lot of engineering and math classes (but no minor).
  22. I feel the Super Metroid has the better isolated atmosphere compared to the original. The extra music tracks, especially at the beginning of the game really help this. The music and atmosphere of the original are epic, but Super Metroid does it better.
  23. If I have time later, I might try to update your spreadsheet, but this is the list of Disney games for the PS1 that I pulled from my own records. I have genres for each of these games as well, but unfortunately, I don't keep track of developer or publisher (I wish I did). Off the top of my head, I can confirm that Hercules for PS1 is a lot of fun, and it's mostly a 2D side scroller with hand drawn art, so it still looks really good today. There are also some fun levels where you run towards the screen in an endless runner format. Disney’s / Pixar’s Bugs Life, A Disney’s / Pixar’s Buzz Lightyear of Star Command Disney’s / Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. Scream Team Disney’s / Pixar’s Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue Disney’s / Pixar’s Toy Story Racer Disney’s 101 Dalmations II: Patch’s London Adventure Disney’s 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue Disney’s Aladdin in Nasira’s Revenge Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire Disney’s Dinosaur Disney’s Donald Duck Goin’ Quackers Disney’s Hercules Disney’s Lilo & Stitch Disney’s My Disney Kitchen Disney’s Peter Pan in Return to Neverland Disney’s Pooh’s Party Game: In Search of Treasure Disney’s Studio Stories: Mulan Disney’s Tarzan Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove Disney’s The Jungle Book: Rhythm ‘n Groove Disney’s The Lion King: Simba’s Mighty Adventure Disney’s The Little Mermaid II Disney’s Tigger’s Honey Hunt Disney’s Treasure Planet Disney’s Winnie the Pooh Kindergarten Disney’s Winnie the Pooh Preschool Disney’s World Quest: Magical Tour Racing Goofy’s Fun House
  24. I've seen at least one bluetooth adapter that attaches to the top in the headphone jack. Supposedly, it can remain in place when you dock it. However, I would assume it must have some sort of battery in it that you would need to recharge every once and a while. I'm not sure how else it could be powered. The other concern would be whether or not you can pull the game cart out without removing it since the headphone jack is so close to the cart slot. I have a feeling that no perfect solution exists.
