  1. I don't actively collect strategy guides, but I will definitely pick them up if I see them for cheap. But usually I'm only interested in guides for games that I have a lot of good memories for. I especially like finding the fancy hardbound strategy guides.
  2. Wow, the original was only $500? It's funny to think that back in 2014, $500 was something I wouldn't even consider for a product like that. It feels like it was so much more back then. But now I'm wondering if my memory is just going to shit, because I swear I remember some company selling a fancy and super expensive consolised MVS in a wooden case. I'll have to see if I can find what I'm remembering, or maybe I just made it all up in a dream. EDIT: Here's what I was talking about. https://www.engadget.com/2011-11-26-the-analogue-cmvs-a-649-wooden-neo-geo-for-the-gamer-who-has-e.html
  3. I remember getting charged 50 cents for something related to setting up my son's Nintendo account. I don't remember exactly what it was, but it happened when I upgraded from the normal online service to the family service. I remember being kind of annoyed at first until I understood what it was for.
  4. My thoughts as well. I have no intention of selling, but I figured breaking even is absolute worst case scenario. How much was the original NT? Wasn't it like $800? I vaguely remember it. I can say that I was not in the group throwing hate their way, but I also remember thinking that $800 was way beyond what I was willing to spend. Also, if I'm not mistaken, didn't Analogue also make a super fancy/expensive consolised MVS with a wooden case, or am I thinking of a different company?
  5. Are you really giving out cookies? If so, I've never sold a single one of my video games. Unless you are giving out oatmeal cookies. In that case, I'm a dirty reseller.
  6. Yeah, I didn't explain that very well, but I sort of mentioned it when I said that it would be nice of they offered a plastic/HDMI only version. I don't think that will ever happen with the NT Mini. But if it ever does, I will most likely buy it and sell the more expensive version. Part of the reason why I decided to get the NT Mini was that I figured I would sell it if I ever changed my mind. Even if the value goes down due to the larger number of units in the market, I'm confident that I would be able to break even at the very least.
  7. Yeah, it's been said already, but no original parts in the NT Mini. The $500 price compared to the cost of the Super NT and Mega SG is more related to the shell. I always wished they offered a plastic/HDMI only version that could be priced closer to the Super NT, but I doubt that's ever going to happen. Someone here once compared them to Nintendo in that they don't always do the obvious, no matter how many people seem to want it to happen.
  8. I'm pretty sure he left that out because, compared to the other issues he listed, that's pretty much a non-issue. Or to put it another way, if yellowing plastic is the worst quality issue you have to worry about, you are in pretty good shape. I'll take yellow plastic over anything that bricks a system any day.
  9. I would check it out anyway. You never know what might be on clearance. Wal-Mart and Target have clearance games around me all the time, and that's during "normal" times. Target especially. Back before COVID, when I worked near one, I made it a point to check their game section at least twice a month. I remember years ago getting lots of new Vita games for less than $5 each.
  10. Nice find. The closest Meijer to me is about 90 minutes away. It's located in my old hometown. I remember when it opened, we didn't have a Super Wal-Mart yet, so the size of the store blew everyone away. A few years later, when Wal-Mart upgraded our store to a Super, most people stopped going there. I'm sort of surprised it's still open. Unfortunately, I'm hardly ever up in that area anymore, so I don't have much chance of stopping in to check on video games.
  11. I thought of this one last night (I haven't checked to see if anyone else has said it yet). Anne Hathaway and Gillian Jacobs
  12. I would say that probably has more to do with the games themselves than the hardware. I can't say for sure as I have very little experience with the GBC. Not sure what that has to do with what I was talking about.
  13. Is there anyone who doesn't agree with this? That's sort of like saying that SNES has better graphics than the NES.
  14. That last round of the NT Mini lasted for a while before selling out, so it definitely wasn't a bot problem. However, I'm not sure how many they will offer this time, so it could go quicker. If you are interested, there is no harm in trying to get one. Worst case scenario, you waste 5 minutes of you day.
  15. I just did a quick import count, and sure enough I have 99. I guess I need to find another if I want the 100 badge. Just to clarify, an import is anything from a country outside of the one you live in correct? So for me being in the US, both PAL and Japanese games would be imports. Is that correct?
  16. It just goes to show that it's worth it to follow them on Twitter. Even if you don't use Twitter (I certainly don't), it's not too difficult to get an account and follow them. I would say 90% of my Twitter feed is video game related stuff. I don't follow very many family or friends using it.
  17. Same, except I passed on Carrion. But with the Analogue Pocket pre-order, plus the Mega SG adapter set, this has been an expensive month.
  18. I figured these wouldn't go nearly as fast as the Pocket pre-orders, but I still wanted to jump on it as quickly as possible because I regretted passing up on them last time.
  19. I managed to snag one this morning. I'm glad you posted this because I did not get an email notification even though I signed up for one. I think I would have seen the Twitter notification, but I don't follow Twitter very closely, so I could have pretty easily missed it. Now I just need to keep an eye out for the Super NT restock.
  20. One thing I can't stand is lugging a vacuum around and plugging it in and trying to vacuum around the cord, which is why we eventually went with the Dyson cordless vac. I don't remember which model specifically, but it's been working great for us. The battery lasts long enough to go over the entire house, but we rarely need to do that because it's so easy to pickup and vacuum for just a few minutes, that we usually just clean up any small mess as needed and hang it back up on the charger. The charger is built into the wall mount, so simply hanging it backup will charge it for next time.
  21. Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection - HD Remaster of two great games, usually sells for under $20 God of War Saga - includes every God of War game except for Ascension and the 2018 game, usually sells for under $20 Any of the Bioshock games, all are pretty cheap The Orange Box - the PS3 version isn't the best, but it's still a good way to play Portal and Half Life 2 Portal 2 Dirt - amazing Rally game Motorstorm - fantastic arcade racer and a great game considering it's a launch title Journey Metal Gear Solid 4 Any of the Metal Gear Solid Collections 3D Dot Game Heroes
  22. I'm not sure that I can vote on this one. I attempted to start and play the game one time. I only made it about an hour in and it wasn't enough to really draw me into it, plus I had a few other things going on at the time so I didn't get back to it. While it didn't really draw me in, I still feel I didn't give it enough of a chance to say I didn't like it. I want to play it someday, but I'm not sure that will ever happen.
  23. I'm seeing lots of people online who have received their set. Unfortunately, most people are getting the box with bent corners because LEGO apparently isn't packing it very well.
