  1. When I hear "fog gaming," I think Nintendo 64, not Sega.
  2. I don't document nearly as much stuff as some of the other members here, but when I do, it's almost always in Excel. My entire collection is tracked in Excel, and I also use Excel for all of my PS1 data. As far as pictures go, it's all saved on my computer which I backup monthly. I use Mediafire to share pictures. I think it's one of the better free picture sharing sites.
  3. 9 Tonight, Tonight is probably my favorite music video of all time.
  4. Now it sounds like you can only get the magnifier if you pre-order all 4. $200 is a bit much for me, especially on something that I know I would never use once. Do you think Nintendo will follow suit and release a Game Boy Micro Micro? The only problem would be that you would have no way of knowing if you bought it unless you owned a microscope.

    PS5

I remember that. There was a short period of time where most people thought the PS3 might end up being a big flop. However, the problem wasn't the price. Technically, the asking price was justified. They just tried to cram way too much new tech into the thing. Just because the price is justified, doesn't mean people have the money to spend on it. The price drops, and later cheaper to produce models saved it and now it's one of the best selling consoles of all time.
  6. There is no universal definition for retro video game, so everyone can define it as they choose, but that's the first time I've ever seen someone suggest that only two generations old is "retro."
  7. That's probably my favorite Futurama episode.
  8. My thoughts as well. Mine don't take up too much space. I just have two of the 10 ream paper boxes full of baseball and basketball cards. I'm sort of hoping that my son might go through a card phase within the next few years, and I can just give them to him as a starter set. When little kids start collections, they don't really care what they get. They just like adding stuff to their collections. I mean, it's either that or throw them away.
  9. Good luck. I'll be following to see if you find a good answer. I'm not actively trying to get rid of mine, but during the times I looked into it, I found that I couldn't give them away.
  10. I prefer SMW. I think it has better replay value. I love the continuous overworld map. I love the graphics. I love Yoshi. I always thought the cape was one of the better looks for Mario. It's also the only Mario game I can 1 CC. I still love SMB3, just not as much as SMW. SMB2 > SMW > SMB3 > SMB (not a single bad game in that list)
  11. I love that picture, but it seems more fitting for the random picture thread than the meme thread.
  12. I always enjoyed their music. 7 for me. I think they get more hate then they deserve. They are kind of like Nickeback. Lots of people hate them, but no one really knows why. I can't help but wonder if Nickelback is next....
  13. The inconsistency of Amazon is driving me crazy right now. I've now seen the exact same item ordered directly from Amazon delivered in a box, a bubble mailer, and no packaging at all with a shipping label slapped right on the box. That shit drives me crazy. And it has nothing to do with whether or not the item will be collectible or worth anything in the future. This was a $100 item. It needs to be packed appropriately. Most recent update from Amazon just a few minutes ago. That's helpful.
  14. Sorry to hear about that. I'm glad it wasn't worse then it could have been. To your point, it's so important to know how and where to turn your water off to your house. Too many people don't know about that. I just replaced my main water shut off last year because it wouldn't completely shut the water off. I put the fix off for a long time because I could always go outside and turn the water off at the meter, but then the water company put a lock on it so I couldn't access it. Seems pretty dangerous to me, but it gave me the excuse to finally fix the valve in my basement. Good luck with getting everything back to "normal."
  15. Not sure if it's already been mentioned or not, but Amazon is shipping the TG16 mini in bubble mailers. Just in case anyone was excited to get their shipping notification, prepare to be disappointed when it arrives.
  16. Same creek from the pictures I posted on page 1 and page 2, but this time at high water. Unfortunately, I can't take the picture from the same angle as before. This was as close as I could get. Where I'm standing, the water is already over the tops of my boots.
  17. If you have all of the games you want, I'm not sure why you would buy anything else. I would suggest spending time playing those games.
  18. I'll be looking forward to the rest of that.
  19. I listened to them a lot in the '90s, but not so much today. Probably a 6 if I'm voting off how I felt in the '90s.

    Boss Rush

Super Metroid has great bosses. That game really needs a Boss Rush mode. Metal Gear Solid has some pretty good bosses as well. Nearly all of them require a different skill or method to beat them. Another game that would benefit from a Boss Rush mode.
  21. Nothing wrong with using save states............. as long as you don't come back later and say the game is MUCH easier than everyone says after you used them to beat the game.
  22. Anytime someone uses an avatar with a real person in it, I have trouble believing that they could look like anything else (even if I know who the person in the avatar is).
  23. There are several different brands/makers of SD mods for the Dreamcast, but I own the exact model you are talking about (GDemu). I've had mine for more years then I can remember. I bought mine second hand off someone who was getting out of Dreamcast collecting, so I got a pretty good deal on it, considering there were still waiting lists to get new ones at the time. I've been pretty happy with it. Honestly, I don't believe I've bought a Dreamcast game since getting it. The biggest downside is that it doesn't have a menu initially. I own nearly every model of Everdrive, so I'm accustomed to a nice menu to navigate the list of games. Fortunately, someone else developed a menu system called GEmenu, which you can save to the SD card and it allows you to browse through the list of game just like an Everdrive. Assuming that they haven't added this functionality in recent years (I haven't kept up with recent models), I would recommend doing this as well. I also recommend using software that allows you to update the region on your ISOs which will allow you to play Japanese games on your US Dreamcast. Again, it's possible that newer models do this for, but I have to do it manually with my version. This is how I can play Ikaruga on my US Dreamcst. The only real issue I have had is that occasionally, I've had a game freeze up, or sometime the music will stop. It's pretty rare and resetting the game always fixes this. I also keep a second Dreamcast next to my DGemu model so that I can play my disc based games and all I have to do is switch the cables from one model to the next. EDIT: One more thing that I will add is that I've always appreciated that the GDemu version that I own doesn't make any permanent changes to your Dreamcast. If you decide to remove it, you can reinstall your CD laser and everything will be back to original. Some other brands require making holes in the casing. This isn't the end of the world, but I like to keep stuff as close to original as possible.
  24. In theory, they should be worth more, but in reality I don't see much of a market for this. Potentially, a collector could be looking at owning a bunch of different consoles (possibly of the same model), just for one game on each system. Then you have to worry about tracking which system has which game and hooking up the entire system just to play the game. Even die hard enthusiasts will admit that you might as well emulate at that point. Also, given enough time, most of these delisted digital games will become available online through other means (whether legal or not), making the market for the real thing even smaller.
