  1. That's one of my favorite movie franchises of all time. Besides part II, all of them are fantastic movies that I can re-watch multiple times.
  2. I still remember buying a CIB Super Metroid from my neighbor for $2. I also bought several other SNES games for $2 each, but Metroid was definitely the best deal from that many years later. At the time though, everyone was happy with the deal.
  3. Considering the high failure rate of the Jaguar CD, just about any Jaguar CD game is probably more common than the system itself, but Blue Lightning is probably at the top of that list.
  4. I don't see as much in the thrift stores either, but don't forget, that more and more people are looking for that stuff. It's possible that just as much is coming and going through some of those stores, but it doesn't last as long because the number of interested parties visiting the store is up. Overall, I would be willing to bet that it's a mix of both, less stuff coming in, and more people buying what is there. I still hit up my local Goodwills, and I tend to find stuff that I will end up buying at least once per month, but it's probably been a year or two since I've found something really worth talking about.
  5. Not that it matters anymore, but Memories of Celceta is compatible with the PS TV, so at least you can play it on the big screen if you want to. I started the game, but didn't get too far into it.
  6. I didn't know about the Clubs section until just recently, so I've missed this completely. The PS1 is probably my favorite system and the only system I collect for where I would actually like to complete the set someday. That goal seems pretty far away right now. At my last check, I had around 525 PS1 games, of which about 475 are unique titles which is only slightly more than 1/3 of the set. I also have large collections of the other PS systems, but when it comes to PS2/3/4, I'm usually only interested in games that I want to play.
  7. I came to say the same thing except I'm pretty sure I pay 12.9% plus $.30. I'm guessing you get a discount due to being a larger seller. I only sell a few hundred dollars worth of stuff a year at most. Regardless, the Paypal fee is pretty straight forward.
  8. So while the Switch I bought for Christmas is technically for my son, unsurprisingly, I have more gaming hours logged with it so far. He has been playing Mario Kart 8, but I've been playing the Link's Awakening remake. I have to say that I'm loving Link's Awakening. This is coming from someone who hasn't played more than an hour of the original game, but I think it has the perfect balance of difficulty and puzzles. I'm guessing the remake is probably a little easier with more hints, but I'm ok with that. My adult schedule doesn't allow as much free time which makes it difficult to search every little thing.
  9. I would say a 10 based on the fact that just the song Everlong is enough to make them a 9.
  10. In the US version of Super Mario Bros. 2, if you die at the same time as a boss, the screen pauses as the game plays the ending music, but after the music ends, you still die and you have to replay the boss again. I've done it many times, but it just happened to me again the other night.
  11. For me, Gris was a no brainer. I'm looking forward to playing that one.
  12. I swear this is a true story. Not a year ago I had a discussion on Facebook in one of the gaming groups where someone claimed they would never buy something that didn't have free shipping, even if the item with free shipping cost more than the other item with a shipping charge. He claimed it was "the principle of the thing." I don't care what anyone charges for shipping. I just look at the grand total, and if it's within my price range, I buy it.
  13. Since I won one of these back in the NA days, I don't want to be included in the drawing, but good on you jonebone for continuing this tradition. One of my favorite Christmas memories was getting a PS1 for Christmas. The PS1 itself wasn't super surprising because my brother and I both figured we would get it along with Crash Bandicoot. However after opening both the PS1 and Crash, we were surprised to find a second game called Tomb Raider. I had absolutely no idea what this game was, but my Dad said that somebody at Best Buy recommended it. Of course I tried it out that same night and was blown away by how amazing the game was. Still my favorite PS1 game to this day, and I still enjoy playing through it at least once per year, tank controls and all.
  14. I finally purchased a Switch yesterday. It's technically a Christmas present for my oldest son, so I won't get to pay it until later, but I'm still looking forward to it. My wife was complaining that she didn't have many Christmas ideas for my oldest son, so I suggested a Switch. Since his cousins are getting one too, my wife finally agreed that he should get one. But of course, I'll be playing it as well. I started out with Mario Kart 8 for him and Link to the Past for me. I also picked up a $12 copy of the Street Fighter Arcade collection. I also have a few travel cases that I bought from Target on clearance about a year ago since I knew I would eventually get one.
  15. You are probably already aware of this, but just in case you aren't, you can always check the order status in your account. Sometimes, it can provide information such as "currently in production", or currently "in hand", but waiting on shipping. Also, don't forget, that anything ordered at one time, won't ship until everything in the order is ready to go. I got my Accounting + a lot later than most people because I ordered it with another game that wasn't ready until much later. I don't mind the extra wait to save on the shipping since I'm rarely in a hurry to play most of these.
  16. Definitely belongs near the top, but can be easy to forget since it was released in the early part of the decade.
  17. Clearly using the word "none" was a mistake and I should have said "most," but it doesn't change the fact the vast majority of their games wouldn't exist in any other form but digital if it wasn't for LRG. Also the Star Wars games aren't bootlegs. This has been covered. I personally didn't think they needed to offer those, and I have no intention of buying any of them, but regardless of how you or I feel, they have no negative impact on any of us. If you want to buy one (and clearly many did), you can buy one. If you don't want to buy one (like me), no one is forced to. I've explained very clearly why I believe LRG has provided a service to the collecting community. You can name call all you want, but it doesn't undo any of what LRG has accomplished or revert anything I've said.
  18. I'm going to watch it, but I'm still undecided if I will watch it in the theater or wait until it's streaming. It's hard to get excited considering how much of a disaster episode VIII was.
  19. I could have sworn that we had this exact convo over at NA, but if not, I will still argue that XBox One is worse than Wii U despite the fact that both are terrible names.
  20. I'm actually ok with this. It may not be ideal, but it's better than saying that backwards compatibility just means that you can re-buy your games online and download them digitally (which is what I've been expecting with the "backwards compatibility" of the next generation).
  21. The video game industry is moving towards all digital content. Fact. While the average Call of Duty or Fornite gamer probably doesn't care about digital games, there is still a market of older gamers who prefer physical games. Fact. Nearly every single LRG release has sold out. Fact. There isn't a single example of a LRG release where more than a small percentage of copies have ended in the hands of scalpers. Fact. Therefore, a vast majority of games sold by LRG are in the hands of people who want them and intend to keep them. Fact. Limited Run Games is providing a service to the collecting community. Fact. P.S. No one has ever been forced to buy a game they didn't want. It's perfectly ok to say, "I"m not interested in that game, so I'll pass this week." Trust me, that is much easier than getting so emotional about a small publishing company.
  22. You are definitely not using the right equipment if you don't think that sound has improved since the PS1 era. Sound quality has improved significantly since then, especially since the PS3 era. I understand that not everyone is going to invest in proper sound equipment, but that doesn't mean the improvements aren't there. Metal Gear Solid 4 is a great example of a game that really uses the surround sound to full effect. Listening to that game through 7.1 surround for the first time was an amazing experience.
  23. I felt that the most recent episode was similar to last week's. I enjoyed the story, but I felt that the side characters were really annoying.
