  1. All of this talk about Crash has made me want to go back and play through them again.
  2. When the game first came out and I was complaining about the controls, a few people accused me of just being "rusty" and not remembering how difficult the games were. However, they didn't realize that I had played through the original two games the week before the N'Sane Trilogy was released. I beat the original in a day and 100%'ed the second in two days. I wasn't rusty. The controls on the remake just suck. The N'Sane Trilogy was probably my biggest gaming disappointment in the past decade, if not ever. It caused me to have super low expectations for the Shadow of the Colossus PS4 remake which came out later the same year. Fortunately, the SOTC remake was a masterpiece.
  3. When the N'Sane Trilogy was first released, a lot of first time Crash players were saying the franchise was garbage because of the game, but they weren't giving it a fair rating because the controls in the remake are crap. The controls in the remake are extremely sloppy which doesn't work in a game that requires extremely precise platform jumping (particularly the bridge levels). If you've played the originals enough to develop muscle memory, the remake is almost unplayable. I personally recommend avoiding it entirely and getting the originals.
  4. I'm not aware of differences between the platforms, but please note that if you've never played the originals, PLEASE don't use the N'Sane trilogy to rate the games. That would be like saying you didn't like the theatrical version of Star Wars because you didn't care for the changes made to the Special Edition remaster.
  5. That's true. The removed the requirement to finish the level with one life in Crash 1 which was a great update. It's just a shame the ruined the entire remake with shitty controls. I gave the remake several chances, but I'll stick with the originals.
  6. 2D, sprite based beat'em up? Yes, I will definitely buy that.
  7. Happy Mario Day. Some places are having sales on Mario stuff, but I haven't seen anything that caught my eye yet. Target is having 10% off one of those Game & Watch sets. I didn't plan to get one, but I might end up grabbing one anyway.
  8. I think that 100%ing Crash 1 is pretty crazy too since you have to finish each level without dieing. I've only done it once and I never plan to try again because I don't think it's very fun (beating the game normally is still fun though). On the other hand, 100%ing Crash 2 is a lot of fun because they removed the not dieing factor. Technically, you have to 100% Crash 2 to say you've beaten it, which isn't the case with Crash 1. I've never tried to 100% Crash 3, and I don't remember if it's required to technically beat the game.
  9. 1 was an amazing game, but they took everything that worked and improved it for 2, which is the best in my opinion. There is nothing wrong with 3, but it didn't improve on much, and the level design is a little boring which is why I can't rank it better than the first two. 3 is a good game, but just not great. I haven't been able to get into any of the games since the first 3, but I want to eventually try 4. 2>1>3
  10. I didn't plan to vote for Cher, but the Macarena was annoying to me even when it was new If "She's So High" loses, it will be the first one that I'll be genuinely disappointed about. The third one was easy. Isn't "Don't You" normally used to clear out the crowd at the end of a reception?
  11. I only recall the original Ridge Racer allowing you to do that. Were there other games?
  12. Probably a 10 for me as well. One of my favorites as a kid, and I still love it today.
  13. If there is one thing I've learned in the accounting field these past 16 years is that the titles rarely make sense and are often inconsistent. I remember working for a company about 10 years ago and our department had 3 different positions called "Accountant," "Staff Accountant," and "Senior Accountant." Those 3 positions could not have been more different and none of the three positions really fit the title except MAYBE Staff Accountant. But at the end of the day, the title really doesn't matter.
  14. I used to work in the brass industry, although I was on the manufacturing side as apposed to the metal buying side. If you are collecting brass from shooting ranges, there is a pretty good chance it made its way through our plant. I haven't worked there in over a year. I haven't thought about the price of copper in a long time.
  15. I haven't had a chance to watch it, but I'm looking forward to it. I loved the first movie and I re-watched it recently. It's good to heard good things about it.
  16. Difficult for me to rate this one. I didn't own one for myself until right before the Xbox One came out. My roommate in college had one, but I rarely used it. My other roommate had a GameCube, but most of my gaming from that era was done on a PS2. I have a small library for it. I've tried to focus on games that I can't play on other systems and the games I've played, I've enjoyed. However, I've also had to get good at opening the disc tray with a paper clip because every single model I've ever used has had the disc tray opening issue.
  17. 1 and 2 were the most difficult (probably the most difficult in any of the rounds). 3 and 4 didn't matter much to me.
  18. I bought it for my son's birthday, so we won't be playing it until April. I didn't even know about the online co op. I would assume that in the 3D environment, the co op might be a little easier compared to NSMBUD. In that game, I always feel like you are getting in each other's way and causing each other to die.
  19. I don't know if I would base it off that. I would expect the 3DS to get updates for some time, but not necessarily for the Wii U. In fact, I wouldn't have been surprised if the Wii had continued to get updates beyond the Wii U.
  20. The only thing missing from this story is a Rum Ham.
  21. The replies to the tweets are the best part.
  22. I picked up Jedi Power Battles to round out the Star Wars sub set for the PS1.
