  1. LRG's followers on social media are the worst. I've noticed several types of annoying LRG followers on twitter, though these types aren't limited to LRG fans.

There are the people who respond to a post about a particular game with "when are you going to make X?" Are you seriously derailing a promotional thread for one game to complain that it isn't another? I'm excited about X game too, but replying to a promo for a different game to make that complaint is a dick move.

There are people who just write "this will be MINE". Sure ok, buy it when it's available. This one annoys me because it pops up even when something isn't for sale. I post pictures of some of my homebrew games on twitter when they come in the mail, and people comment "GIVE IT TO ME!" Well you put it so eloquently, sure why not? Please stranger on the internet, take this item in my collection it took months or years to find. Hell there are people on this forum who do it to each other; do you really think anyone wants to sell to you when you "playfully" harass another member about selling one of their treasured games?

And the ones I loathe the most are the surprised folks who say "wow, what a great new idea, finally a new NES game!" These people also ask questions that are clearly stated in the OP itself or on the page that it linked to. I've noticed this weird trend lately where people are either excited because something new happened or sad because "no one is doing X", when in reality they were too lazy to take a cursory look around and confirm that was it even true. Even if you're not a part of the homebrew community and were just some fan of LRG modern-gen releases, if you followed them to ANY degree, then you'd know that not only have they released several NES games, homebrew and re-releases, but they JUST fulfilled Mall Brawl orders, so now you look especially stupid for posting something that could have been avoided if you had just looked at the website of the company you love so much.

Anyway, that was an old man rant about LRG followers and similar complaints about dumbass folks on the twitter.

Are we to play this on a specific difficulty?  Are there higher points awarded for harder difficulties?  I seem to remember that being a thing on the 2nd Adventure.

We've decided that you may play on any difficulty, and posted a chart that displays how points/extra lives are affected by difficulty. However passwords and continues will not be allowed.

  3. Depends on the price’s neighborhood. I get dollar discounts from cheaper listings, which in my opinion should get larger discounts seems my impression is that such games are supposed to be priced to move. Sure $1 off a $12 game is something, but if I added that to my watchlist rather than purchase outright, I’m clearly waiting for something to catch my eye.

Larger value items would require larger discounts just because a discount has to be larger to be noticeable, but I think that scale allows for more wiggle room.

  5. Homebrew Leader Board Competition 2020 - Game 9: The Cowlitz Gamers' Lost Adventure

Play Period: Friday, September 4 - Sunday, September 20, 2020

    Download the rom here.

What once was lost, now is found, and damn is it fun! With the release of the rom for Action 53, Volume 4 and in anticipation of its upcoming cartridge release, we are swapping out our final regular season game with The Cowlitz Gamers' Lost Adventure! This standalone collection of new levels modeled on The Cowlitz Gamers' 2nd Adventure is loosely based on programmer Łukasz Kur's unreleased ZX predecessor game. The goal is to climb from one level to the next, avoiding enemies and finding treasure, hidden secrets, and the means to open the door to the next stage in the limited time the clock affords you.

Fans will recognize the colorful and challenging levels designed by Łukasz Kur and @M-Tee, accompanied by the fun chiptune stylings of Robi. The first two Cowlitz Gamers' Adventures (released in 2016 and 2017 respectively) were developed for the now-concluded Cowlitz Gamers for Kids Expo, an event that raised money for The Arc of Cowlitz County in partnership with Lifeworks Washington, serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The expo was overseen by John Hancock, Chelsea Beck, and Jonathan Rose.

In honor of this being the last game before the finals of this NES homebrew competition, this month's winner will receive a CIB of 30 Years of Nintendont, a Sega Genesis homebrew by @Dr. Ludos and available through Côté Gamers.

    How to submit your score:

  6. I often add ebay listings to my watchlist that I intend to buy later after an upcoming payday. Mostly to have some fun comparing prices and get excited for treating myself later in the month, but sometimes having in my watch list for a little while also gets me one of those “private offers” that discounts the price. But it is funny how bad some of those deals are. I just received one that was a whole dollar off the listing price!!! I mean, wow what a bargain, right? Why am I writing this post when I should be jumping on this incredible deal 😜
